29/06/2022 A very wet start to Falmouth

We arrived into Falmouth the day before yesterday after a 4.5hr hop and were relieved to be allocated a very comfortable birth right next to the office and facilities. Finally after about a week we also had shore power, hooray! However it is £7 per day which is a little steep!

We didn't hang around on the boat for long before making a beeline for a decent pub, and then another one before finding somewhere for supper at 20:00. A few cocktails may also have been consumed along the way! (Hence a very wet start to Falmouth). Harry and Wilson went back to the boat after supper but Noah and Ed went to a few more bars and returned after midnight...

Yesterday we awoke to hammering rain - boring. Harry went and grabbed some breakfast bits from Tesco. Wilson was up but tired having had food poisoning from bad oysters. Ed and Noah asleep in the saloon - Harry had kicked Noah out of their cabin for fear of being awoken at some stupid early hour..

The smell of bacon and eggs got Ed out of bed, but little life from Noah - in fact Noah remained in bed all of yesterday and didn't join us for supper last night. He made some pasta for himself aboard.

To kill time yesterday Harry and Ed went to Trago Mills, a chandlery and a newsagent. Harry arrived back with a new U bend for the loo, a leather-man and a brass clock for the wheel house, oh and a new saucepan... Ed also purchased a load of yachting magazines for us to read in the afternoon whilst stuck up in the wheelhouse out of the rain.

We have awoken today to glorious warm sunshine and plan to get the ferry to St Mawes where Ed has booked us in somewhere lovely for lunch - hopefully we keep the sunshine. Light bit of toast for breakfast we think!
