23/07/2022 A week of racing on Kajsa and we are now homeward bound!

Well well well! We have been busy racing Kajser in the British Classic Yacht Club regatta in Cowes on the isle of white and despite predominantly low winds and a few technical issues we managed to finish 5th. I hasten to add Wilson was not racing with us and Malcolm kept him company whilst we were out.

The first day of racing we established that Kajser hadn't 'taken up' quite as much as we thought and could see daylight through the topsides when sitting down inside! Naturally the solent took every opportunity to flow through the gaps! And all three bilge pumps also decided not to play ball - buckets at the ready! Tim at the helm, Toby on foredeck with Noah assisting on deck and the cockpit whilst Harry was in charge of navigating and being everywhere as and when needed. A fun week of racing and very very hot.

I will do a large photo dump when home but internet is week out in "The Looe".

A glorious start to the day today, flat calm and no wind. We left Tim and Toby in Cowes and towed Kajser up the Hamble. We managed to get her birthed up ready to come out on Monday (Tim is driving down to collect her).

We cruised out of the Hamble and had a major sort out getting the boat tidied up and ready for sea. Malcolm in the cabin and Harry on deck and in the lazarette! Noah on the helm and Wilson back seat driving... We got back into the Solent and Harry went to the galley, as usual and made breakfast. Bloody good job he did when he did because as we got out of the Solent it was pretty rough on the beam, roly poly!!

A long way to go through the night with fairly intense weather forecast - expect to be in the White Hart by lunchtime tomorrow - weather permitting!

Harry
